Dr. Richard Cobden has maintained an active practice in Fairbanks for 19 years. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1963 and his Doctor of Medicine in 1967 at Los Angeles County-USC School of Medicine. He further trained and served as faculty of the University of Edinburgh, Harvard Medical School, and University of California, Davis. He is one of only five orthopedic surgeons in the Interior who is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, and he is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Cobden's current scope of practice includes General Orthopedics, Trauma, Hand, Hip and Knee Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery. He is former Chief of Staff at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and is a past president of the Alaska State Orthopedic Association. He has lived in Fairbanks for 13 years.
Dr. Wendy Boucher, Board Certified Orthopedic surgeon, specializes in sports medicine, trauma, and joint replacement. In addition to her many professional achievements and academic tenure at the Madigan Army Medical Center and Ft. Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Dr. Boucher was three time recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, as well as the Meritorious Service Medal.
After deployment to Iraq, Dr. Boucher returned to the United States and now lives in Fairbanks, where she enjoys time with her family hiking, skiing, camping, and other outdoor activities.
Mike Pomeroy, PA-C began his medical career in 1974 serving as a medical specialist in a United States Special Forces ('Green Beret") A-Team. He subsequently attended a Physician Assistant Program in1980 at the Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, Texas. He continued his medical career in the United States Army, serving in both conventional and unconventional units. He attended a structured, official 2 year orthopedic specialty program from 1984-1986, and has been working in orthopedics specifically since that time. He has been Nationally Certified since 1982, and Licensed in Alaska since1987. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery, and the Alaskan Academy of Physician Assistants.
